The government funded Amtrak expansion project that received $20 million in stimulus funding is turning out to be $5.7 million above the initial budget. Big surprise.
Amtrak announced that the train station in Wilmington, Del. will be renamed after the stimulus championing Vice President Joe Biden. With Biden’s lobbying efforts for Amtrak stimulus funding this is yet again a “big surprise.”
This comes as a great honor to stimulus “sherrif” Joe Biden, as he heavily advocated the project: “We would not be spending a penny on it today without the Recovery Act … We have no time to wait. We cannot wait. That’s what the Recovery Act is about.”
The vice president boasted that he had taken the train over 7,000 times and claimed that he “heavily influenced the amount of money” Amtrak received in stimulus money. With the egocentric Mr. Biden, this is yet again, a big fat surprise.
